Quality Control Service Technician - New Home Construction
Job Summary:
As a Quality Control Service Technician for new home construction, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving the quality of our newly constructed homes. You will be responsible for conducting inspections, identifying deficiencies, and working with various teams to ensure that all aspects of our homes meet or exceed established quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspections and Testing: Conduct comprehensive inspections of new homes at various stages of construction to identify quality issues, code compliance, and workmanship standards.
- Deficiency Reporting: Document and report any identified defects or issues to the relevant construction teams and subcontractors for prompt resolution. Assist Construction Supervisor in maintaining the construction schedule by reporting any noted delays or problems.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with construction managers to establish quality assurance procedures and ensure adherence to industry best practices.
- Coordinate: Coordinate the installation of appliances, cabinets, counters, plumbing fixtures, screens and the like in a manner that assures that finishes are protected.
- Warranty Services: Conduct 30-day and End-Of-Year Repairs.
- Final Walkthroughs: Perform thorough final walkthroughs to ensure that all outstanding issues have been resolved and that the home is ready for homeowner occupancy.
- Customer Satisfaction: Address homeowner concerts, provide information, and ensure that any requested warranty work is completed to the homeowner’s satisfaction.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of inspections, deficiencies, and resolutions, and produce regular reports on quality control finding.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in construction management or related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in construction, quality control, or a related role within the construction industry.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to identify defects or issues.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with construction teams, subcontractors, and homeowners.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, as well as manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Willingness to adapt to changing situations and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
