SUMMARY:Seminar: Legal Requirements for Home Improvement Contracts - 02/15/2011
DESCRIPTION:Legal Requirements for Home Improvement Contracts Even when a home improvement contract is as detailed as New Jersey law requires\, disagreements between homeowners and their contractor can still arise in the course of construction. If the contract fails to measure up to the dictates of the law\, the contractor may have no right to enforce it\, and will very likely be on the defending end of a consumer fraud counterclaim if he tries. This presentation gives the contractor - including those working in the licensed trades - the basics for compliance with the laws that govern home improvement. Speaker Bio: Serving clients across the spectrum of building trades\, Robert J. Incollingo leads a vigorous construction law practice in Glendora\, New Jersey. For over twenty-eight years he's been committed to helping his clients get the benefit of their bargains when good faith and fair dealing have broken down. Mr. Incollingo is co-chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association Construction Law Section\, and a member of the Burlington County and Camden County Bar Associations\, as well as the unified State Bar of California. He is a founding member of\, and counsel to\, the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Roof Consultants Institute. He is a member of the Builders League of South Jersey\, and serves as a director of its Remodelers Council. A graduate of Temple University and its School of Law\, Bob Incollingo attended the Construction Development and Management certificate program at the University of California\, Irvine. Back in New Jersey\, he completed the Construction Management certificate course at Camden County Community College. He is a frequent speaker at professional conferences on construction topics\, and serves as a commercial arbitrator by appointment of the Superior Court in Camden and Burlington Counties. A contributing author of Residential Construction & Renovation: A Legal Guide for New Jersey Homeowners\, published by the New Jersey State Bar Foundation\, Robert J. Incollingo was honored as Man of the Year 2007 by the New Jersey Remodelers Association. His website\, RJILAW.com\, is a good tool and a handy practical reference for topical information on construction issues.
