Gillen\, Ph.D.\n\nSenior Research Fellow\,  Lindy Institute for Urban Innovation\n\nDrexel University\n\n\n\n1. Dr. Kevin C. Gillen will give us his impressions of the current economic situation\, the impact of COVID-19 on the South Jersey\, Shore & Philadelphia housing markets\, including the local real estate marketplace.\n\n \n2. The effect of  the pandemic and protests in the city and did it spur residents to move out to the South Jersey or the Philly suburbs?\n\n   \n3. Any opinions on how the switch to working from home may affect the housing market. Will companies require workers to be back in the office once this is over? Home offices seem to be the latest option in new homes.\n\n 4. The cost of builder materials with tariffs\, strong demand and the price of lumber\, effects on new home building\n\n\n\nPresentation and Q&A segment with our members.\n\n \n\nKevin C. Gillen\, Ph.D. is an economist who holds positions as both a Senior Research Fellow with the Lindy Institute for Urban Innovation and an adjunct Professor of Finance at Drexel University.\n\nWith a background in urban economics\, real estate finance and public policy\, Dr. Gillen's research and consulting practice is concentrated in applied work in the analysis of real estate developments and operation of real estate markets\, including their fiscal\, economic and financial implications.\n\n\n\nThis work is deployed in advising both public and private sector entities on the costs/benefits of public policy options\, as well as the design and implementation of local economic development strategies. His research on urban economic issues appears in numerous publications and is cited in various policy applications.
